Buchholz High School

Built 1971

Named in honor of a distinguished Alachua County educator who had died a few years previous. "Frederick "Fritz" William Buchholz (1885–1965) . . . came to Gainesville in 1914 as a teacher and coach of the football team at Gainesville High School. He was appointed principal of GHS in 1917 and served in the school system until his retirement in 1951, including as Superintendent of Alachua County Public Schools."
